Paul Skoric/Skorich came from Taboriste, Croatia to Minnesota around 1900. I don't know if he worked in the mines or packinghouses. I did read that the mines sent agents to Croatia and other countries and paid their passage to come and work in the mines. Is there any record of the mine employees or a list of the immigrants they brought to Minnesota? I know Paul married in a Catholic church in Duluth in 1906 - but where he worked before that I have no idea. Does anyone know if any of the above resources are available...or the names of the mines and companies that owned them?   Kathryn Skorich   Jan 2006

Seeking information about Edward J Nelson who immigrated to the US from Rolfsdorf Halland lan Sweden in the late 1800s and about his wife, Cherstin (Kerstin) (Christina) Swanson who immigrated from Sweden about 1903. He homesteaded in the Douglas twnshp, Ward Co, N Dakota area in the early 1900s. They had four children that survived. His dad, Edward B Nelson also homesteaded in the same area.
